Man Jason that is one sharp looking piece of work!

Hope we get to hear a sound clip of it when it's done!

It's DONE!!!! I just droped it off at the packing and shipping center to be lovingly packed up and shipped off to Mr. Groovy.

Here are the final pics. I'll let Groovey give the final report. He should have it in a couple days.

Jason Hillbourne made this dream conception into a reality.

I supplied most of the components and Jaydawg put the pieces together with his considerable skills and advice

He made the solid rosewood neck from some stock I found in Oregon.

Extra thick counter sunk Neck Plate of Brass

The Fret Markers are Brass as well as the neck dots

The Solid Pine body is veneered front and back with rosewood.

Glendale Fat Saddles, in a custom milled solid billet brass bridge control plate and knobs all custom machined. A brass String Block straight through the body.

Snake Oil Strings in a custom gauged set 11-13-19-32-42-52 original pure nickels on a bone nut.

Gotoh open Machine heads with Rosewood Buttons

A Don Mare Stingray 3 Tap Esquire pup at the bridge 3K, 6K, 8K.

And a Jason Lollar Charlie Christian at the Neck.

It is my Strange Brew LesQuire Jr.

ps that pick guard gotta go

Wow. Although what I saw as the original vision of this guitar was and is cool, a meeting of a LP style and Tele/Esq style, the actual guitar reaches far beyond that. I can't wait to hear how it plays.

It was definitely a winding path that lead to this guitar. That said, the end more then justifies the means!

It was the one thing that didn't quite go for me, too. I didn't want to say anything because everyone has different taste.

What are the dimensions on the pick guard
and with Genuine Celluloid can you wet sand it down to the correct thickness approx .070 from .100 or larger?

I hope that you know that you truly have a gift, a talent that just bursts out of this guitar. I know that there are many builders out there these days, and I haven't heard this guitar yet, but you have it, that magic.

Jospeh,
You would need a blank at least 8" x 8". And sorry, don't think I would be able to wetsand it down that much.
