How about a trussrod cover with the words "I'm a professional, eh!"

A couple of things now that I've caught my breath.

There is no word on the neck pup yet so that may be a while since it was special ordered with a brass blade rather then chrome.

For more then cosmetic reasons I have chosen to use brass as much as possible so the Ferrul Block from Taipan Tone is made from a solid brass billet as well as the FULL bridge plate. The Control plate and Neck Plate are Brass as well. As will be a custom made bone and brass nut. So in keeping with the brass on those items there will be no chrome or silver metal.

The extra heavey duty brass neck plate will be counter sunk flush into the guitar body

Groovey, if it's going to be a little bit on the CC then I'll just go ahead and use the cavity dimensions that Jason sent me.

I'll start milling the rosewood this weekend.

Did you get in touch with Vince about the inlays? The more I think about it the more I wounder about the weight issue.

Looking good! I don't think I've seen such a large slab of rosewood before

How many dayglo highlights will there be in the finish?

Here is a little update. I've got some of the hardware and figured I'd show you guys.

Here are the VERY cool Gotoh tuners Groovey picked up from Japan!

And here is the Don Mare StingRay bridge pup. I can't wait to hear this baby.

jaydawg -

"neck is going to look amazing" ? It is looking like the whole guitar is going to be amazing ! Your doing a fab job. Looking forward to more pictures of your talented workmanship !

I have been spending time with my boy hunting the elusive whitetail. This is the first year he can hunt so I am digging the time we are spending together. I have the stock for the Bridge and the control plate but seeing how this is Thanksgiving week I will not be spending much time in the shop. I have them slated to start next week.

Oh - I see also that your a Drum man aye? I'm a Top man myself -

I had a 8 point buck and his whole family eating apples 20 feet from my window about 7 this morning.

Me I'm a bottom man myself

Hey Vince, nice to see you here!

That's great you've been out hunting with your son. I grew up hunting the Maine woods with my father. Those memories will stay with him for ever!

That's funny you saw the pack of Drum. It started in college as a way to save money and now nothing else will do. I usually try to keep the smokes out of the pics but I missed that one. Oh well.

Alright, I got some more work done on the Lesquire this weekend. The rosewood had sat long enough so I starting milling. First I milled up the neck. This series of pics shows the milling process.

Then I glued a wing on the headstock. I need about another inch at the headstock in order to keep the grain running stright down the neck.

Then it was on to the fretboard. First I milled up the blank. Then thickness sanded to its finished dimension. Next the radius was sanded into the fretboard and the fret slots cut.
